Mineral Wells Senior Center Director Linda Gilley, center, normally spends the weekday lunch hour helping feed seniors at the center, or preparing and delivering lunches to offices and workplaces around town and the county courthouse.

But this week, she spent the Wednesday lunch hour as guest speaker for Rotary Club of Mineral Wells.

Gilley spoke about the center and its programs and services for seniors. She said if it wasn't for the center, some local seniors would have no one to see or socialize with, receive help with a variety of programs and activities or have decent meals to eat.

Among the center's fundraisers is the new lunch delivery program on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The lunches are requested $7 each, or $8 if it is fried fish day, and comes with vegetables and dessert. There is no minimum order for deliveries in town, but there is a minimum order for deliveries outside Mineral Wells. Gilley is hoping to grow the lunch delivery program.

The Mineral Wells Senior Center is located at 102 N.W. 6th Ave. For more information about programs and activities, or the Tuesdays and Thursdays lunch service, call 940-325-6470, or find them on Facebook.
