Rotary Club of Mineral Wells is partnering with local churches and organizations through its community flag subscription program. Groups that need to raise monies are being offered $1,000 a year to service one of Rotary Club's six flag routes.

To date, Indian Creek Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, New River Fellowship Church, MWHS Rotary Interact and MWHS Class of 2019 have each agreed to take one flag route. The churches will use monies they raise to help fund youth mission trips.

In addition, each organization will receive half of the annual fees for any new flag subscribers they sign up, giving them opportunities for additional revenue through the program.

Rotary Club puts out U.S. flags six times a year at homes and businesses who subscribe. The cost is $48 per year (pro-rated). That is just $7 to enjoy a display of a beautiful U.S. flag for each of the holidays – President's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Patriot's Day and Veterans Day.

Rotary flag project chair David May said being a Rotary flag subscriber means you are not only helping support Rotary Club's many community service projects and programs, but now subscribers will also be helping support other local groups and youth with their projects and programs.

Plus, May said, as a Rotary flag subscriber you are showing community and national patriotism and pride.

"We as a club decided to give back to some of our local organizations and groups to help them raise monies for their projects and needs," said Rotary flag project chair David May. "This is an easy fundraiser that requires little manpower and time, compared to some of the fundraisers that these groups undertake. Rotary Club of Mineral Wells is very happy to be able to give back to the community in this way."

At this time, one Rotary flag route remains available for a group to take over.
