Rotarian and Palo Pinto County Clerk Janette Green, pictured right, informed Rotarians Wednesday about two services provided through her office – brand renewals and property fraud alerts. She is pictured with club President Karyn Bullock.

Janette spent much of her presentation on the property fraud alert since that is one that can potentially protect any property owner. She said property and mortgage fraud are the fastest-growing white-collar crimes in the United States.

The service her office provides is a free online program where Palo Pinto County property owners can sign up to have their names monitored to track possible fraudulent activity. Registering is quick and easy and registrants will be notified only when the exact name they have provided is listed as a Grantor or Grantee on over 90 different document types recorded in the County Clerk’s office. PFA is customizable in that alerts can be generated by email or telephone call from a PFA Representative.

Janette said registering for the property fraud alert program will not prevent fraud, but it alerts the registered property owner when any activity is recorded involving the registered property. To learn more about PFA and to sign up, visit the website https://pfa.fidlar.com/TXPaloPinto.

The brand renewal service begins Aug. 31. The cost for brand renewal is $26.

Thank you, Janette, for informing us about these important services provided free to Palo Pinto County residents and property owners.
