Carol Holmes' goal is to help people relax, de-stress and improve their overall health and well-being through yoga. Her mantra is, "Pause ... Breathe ... Pray."

A registered yoga instructor and owner of Circle Y Yoga Ranch in northwest Parker County, Holmes was the guest speaker at Wednesday's noon meeting of the Rotary Club of Mineral Wells at Holiday Hills Country Club. She is pictured with club President Jimmy Walker, left, and program chair for the week Tonya Gary, right.

Holmes cited statistics related to stress and its related health problems and medical costs, along with the negative impact it has on workplace attendance and productivity.

She teaches a variety of yoga classes and workshops geared for people with post-traumatic stress disorder such as veterans and first responders, people dealing with grief, women who are pregnant, yoga for senior citizens, corporate yoga classes along with stand up paddle yoga, among others. She also teaches public and private classes, and is a certified CPR instructor through the American Heart Association.

She provides yoga classes with Yoga Warriors International and advanced training with Warriors At Ease expands her classes further to include the VA Outpatient Clinic in Fort Worth and 'yoga PT' with the Texas Army National Guard. She provides yoga lessons at Possum Kingdom Lake, some combined with nature hikes.

Holmes also advocates aroma therapy through Young Living Essential Oils, for which she is a distributor.

She said yoga brings the body and mind together through movement, breath, meditation and nutrition. She said yoga is good for people with conditions such as back ailments and sleep disorders.

Holmes is active with Yoga Alliance. A yoga student most her life, she formally trained under Sandra Vanatko of Indra’s Grace: A Yoga & Meditation Studio in the Hatha tradition and continues her passion to learn and share.

She invites anyone to contact her or visit her studio, cantina, and waterfront pavilion at 1303 Russell Bend Road, off FM Road 1885 in the Adell community. You can call 817-609-6454 for more information, or visit http://circleyyoga.com/.
