DENTON – An installation ceremony for Mary Ann McDuff as governor for Rotary International District 5790 is scheduled for June 4 at the Denton Country Club.

As governor, McDuff will coordinate projects of the 70 clubs in District 5790, including Rotary Club of Mineral Wells. She will assume office July 1 and will serve through June 2017.

The country club is located at 1213 Country Club Road in Argyle.

McDuff will be one of over 500 Rotarians worldwide serving as a district governor and will be responsible training and support, organizing new Rotary clubs and strengthening existing ones.

A Fort Worth native, Mary Ann McDuff has made Denton her home for more than 40 years. She retired as director of Academic Financial Services at Texas Woman’s University several years ago, after more than 30 years of full-time service. For these past several years, she has immersed herself fully into fulfilling her retirement goal and dream – expansion of community engagement, activism and service in the North Central Texas area through Rotary. She served as the Denton Rotary Club’s first female president during 1998-99.

Rotarians serve in 70 clubs in Rotary Club District 5790, ranging from Denton and Decatur clubs south to Cleburne, and west of Abilene to north of Wichita Falls. Troy Secord is the 2015-16 governor of Rotary Club District 5790.

Rotarians in these clubs exemplify the motto "Service Above Self," with projects in local communities as well as international projects around the world.

Rotary International is working diligently to cross the finish line of eradicating Polio worldwide and District 5790 is working hard to aid in that effort.
