As District Governor John Miller announced last month, our district received a Rotary International Public Relations grant. RI provides advertisements we can use, but we wanted to showcase Rotarians from our district. In November we asked Rotarians to submit nominees to become our faces of Rotary. More than 40 faces were submitted and the final decision was that we needed multiple faces of Rotary.  Among the faces submitted  and selected was one of our own members:

Harris Brooks , Mineral Wells – Hospital Administrator. Hunter. Polio Eradicator.  He was nominated by Diane Brown, who said Harris gives 110 percent effort to anything he does. She said he brings fresh fundraising ideas that are paying off.

The Rotary Billboards will be installed the week of February 15th.  The one with Harris Brooks face will be located on Interstate 30 at the Linkcrest Exit between the I-20 split and Loop 820 (Near Brumbaugh's Carpet Gallery).  It will run for 4 weeks.

A big thank you goes out to all who sent nominations. The selected faces are going to become advertisements on buses, billboards, the Web, and in newspapers. We hope to have the ads on buses and billboards later this month to celebrate Rotary Awareness Month. Look for an announcement soon on where you can see these ads. DG John announced the names last month and now you can see their faces. (To see the other faces go to the District Newsletter under downloads in the lower right hand column of our website homepage and find the January 2010 newletter.)
