Congressman Michael Conaway spoke for about 30 minutes to members of Mineral Wells Rotary Club during the club's weekly Wednesday meeting at Palo Pinto General Hospital.
The seven-term conservative Republican from Odessa represents Texas' 11th Congressional District, which includes Palo Pinto County and 28 other West Central Texas counties.

The ranking member of the House Committee on Agriculture and member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Conaway touched on a number of topics and issues including the ongoing political divide in Washington, D.C., over President Donald Trump and investigations into his campaign and presidency by the Special Counsel Robert Mueller and now Democratic Party leaders to border security and issues, agriculture, federal budget and spending and how he hopes the two parties can put some of the partisan rhetoric aside to work on important legislative policy.
Conaway then fielded several questions and comments from Rotarians before the meeting ended at its normal 1 p.m. time.
