MW Rotary receives District Simplified Grant

District DSG grants were awarded by the DSG committee on Tuesday night August 2, 2010. Connie Ball, Chair of the Community Committee, submitted an application for a $1200 grant to be matched by our club to help Palo Pinto County Meals on Wheels begin a program to provide additional second meals per day to rural residents in need of this help. The grant was announced at the Membership/Foundation Seminar held at Mineral Wells High School on Saturday, August 14, 2010.

Instead of asking Rotarians for contributins to the DSG, the matching funds will be included in our Programs budget for this year. In turn we ask you to sell two tickets for our "Shotgun Raffle". District matching funds come from the "Share Funds" from The Rotary Foundation. Fifty percent of contributions from District 5790 to the general fund of The Rotary Foundation made three year ago have been returned to the district for Rotary programs including the District Simplified Grants for humanitarian programs at the community level.
